Contrary to rumors suggesting a summons by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam for a performance review, Simmons' trip is due to a pre-scheduled appointment with doctors in the UK.

The former West Indies opener is anticipated to rejoin the team in Sri Lanka on July 7, ensuring his presence for the third ODI of the series. Following the ODIs, Bangladesh is scheduled to compete in three T20Is.

The Bangladesh team, after a promising draw in the first Test, experienced a setback with a loss in the second Test, resulting in a series defeat. Their struggles continued into the ODI series, where they suffered a significant collapse in the first game.
