When questioned by reporters, Vijay Sethupathi stated, "If something like that happened, it might have been done unknowingly or by someone else. I sincerely apologize if anyone was hurt or misunderstood the intention."

Thalapathy Vijay's Support for 'Phoenix'

Adding significant momentum to 'Phoenix' prior to its release was the support of superstar Thalapathy Vijay.
