The highly anticipated film 'Maareesan', starring the dynamic duo Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, is officially set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, this movie marks the reunion of the actors after their acclaimed performance in Mari Selvaraj's 'Maamannan' (2023).

The release date was revealed alongside a brand new poster featuring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu. The makers captioned the poster: "Get ready for the ultimate face off! #Maareesan hitting theaters this July 25th 2025 !!! #MaareesanFromJuly25th."
The teaser suggests that 'Maareesan' begins as a lighthearted road movie but evolves into a suspenseful thriller. Accompanied by the classic melody "Aaha Inba Nilaavinile" from Mayabazar (1957), the teaser showcases Fahadh and Vadivelu traversing diverse landscapes, before the plot takes a darker turn.
Sudheesh Sankar, known for his Malayalam films such as Villali Veeran, directs 'Maareesan', his second Tamil directorial venture after 'Aarumaname' (2009). The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Vivek Prasanna, PL Thenappan, Kovai Sarala, Sithara, Livingston, Saravana Subbiah, Renuka, Krishna, Telephone Raja, and Haritha.
The movie features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, and editing by Sreejith Sarang.
Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu's previous collaboration in the drama thriller 'Maamannam', released on June 29, 2023, received positive feedback from audiences and was directed by Mari Selvaraj.
